A single-member LLC property holding is a method used in a 1031 exchange where the relinquished property and the replacement property are held by a single-member limited liability company (LLC). In this type of exchange, the taxpayer transfers the relinquished property to the LLC, and the LLC then sells the property and uses the proceeds to purchase the replacement property.
