Principal, Interest, Taxes, and Insurance (PITI) in a 1031 exchange refers to the four main components of a property’s debt service. These components are used to measure the affordability of a property and to ensure that an investor’s cash flow will not be adversely affected when purchasing a replacement property in a 1031 exchange.
